Software Engineer (Mid-level)

Peoplebank are exclusively partnering with a growing and award-winning software development company, based in Adelaide, South Australia to recruit a Full Stack Software Engineer (Mid-level) on a permanent, on-going basis.

Note - whilst hybrid work is the norm, fully remote is NOT an option, so you must be based in Adelaide, South Australia, with full working rights.

We are looking for a mid-level Developer, to join an experienced team of talented and committed Senior Developers, where you will get the chance to learn and grow, whilst working on interesting and varied projects!

Whilst the team use Ruby on Rails, they are willing to cross train any Full Stack Software Developer from a different tech stack background (.Net, PHP, Python/Django, etc.) who has a genuine desire to branch out and learn new skills!

But it’s essential that you have strong experience using MVC frameworks and background in web technologies, including frontend, backend, software engineering, and security.

Work Performed By The Software Engineer

• Design, build, test, and deploy efficient, reusable, and reliable code
• Implement user requirements in a full-stack development environment
• Manage and maintain cloud-hosted services
• Solve complex problems individually and as a team
• Participate in team meetings, sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and support the project manager in client meetings.
  
  

Skills And Experience Required

• 2 to 4+ years of experience in web-focussed software engineering.
• Ruby on Rails skills are a bonus, but NOT essential.
• A full-stack attitude to web development, with specific experience in:
• Back-end web development experience using MVC or similar
• Front-end experience, including JavaScript frameworks and CSS
• Relational databases
• Deployment and system maintenance
• AWS / Azure / Cloud skills would also be beneficial
• Comfortable working on multiple projects with competing demands
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile Development (e.g. Scrum/Kanban), Software Testing and Continuous Integration
• Great communication skills with experience working with Projects Managers, business stakeholders and clients
