Project Portfolio Manager | Defense

Job Description

  • Manage a set of industrial development projects in accordance with the strategy defined
  • Manage a set of projects relying on different project managers
  • Align projects to strategic objectives of the company
  • Based on clear project objectives, define initial project baselines in cooperation with project managers
  • Identify potential bottleneck and set priorities as required
  • Review financial figures (actuals and estimated to complete) of each project individually on a monthly basis with corresponding project manager and put them in perspective with the progress based on the Earn Valued Management methodology.
  • Consolidate the project portfolio’s financial figures
  • Identify any lack of resources (quantity or skill) to achieve project portfolio objectives and suggest appropriate actions
  • Manage risks and opportunities at project portfolio level
  • Define appropriate key performance indicators and carry out the corresponding reporting to the management

Your Profile

Studies and experience

  • Master degree in Engineering and/or Business administration, with at least 10 years’ experience in project/portfolio management in a high-tech environment
  • An experience working for an international company
  • Project or Portfolio management certification such as PMP or IPMA is an asset

  • You are a true leader
  • You are business oriented, proactive and autonomous
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You like to analyze figures and you are particularly familiar with financial data
  • You are able to think out of the box
  • You have strong spoken and written communication skills
  • You are able to work inside matrix teams and you are a real team-player
  • You always challenge yourself in order to bring new ideas and new skills in your day-to-day job
  • You are fluent in French and English
  • The defense sector’s knowledge is a plus
