We're working with a YC-backed startup that’s just raised a fresh $5M seed round from some of the best investors in the game. They’re building AI teammates that automate complex insurance workflows - from processing unstructured docs to making real phone calls - and they’re on a mission to replace the repetitive manual labor behind one of the largest industries in the US. Now they’re hiring a backend/fullstack engineer to join the early team and help scale the core product from the ground up.

What you’ll do:

• Build and own major parts of the product backend
• Help define technical architecture and scale performance
• Work directly with the founding team to shape the product and culture
• Contribute to the long-term vision: building vertical AI agents as reliable and adaptable as human teammates

What they’re looking for:

• 3+ years of experience building backend systems (Python preferred)
• Track record of 0-to-1 product work
• Clear communicator - written and verbal
• Bonus: B2B SaaS or agent workflows
• Most importantly: strong ownership and internal drive. If you're world-class on that front, the rest is flexible.
