Java Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Product Owner for a freelance engagement with one of our key clients. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working in agile environments, and fluency in Finnish and English.

This role will act as a bridge between the business and technical teams, with a focus on understanding customer needs, shaping product requirements, and supporting delivery through Agile ceremonies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with business stakeholders and customers to understand challenges and requirements
• Translate business needs into well-defined user stories, requirements documents, and Jira tickets
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and customer demos
• Collaborate closely with developers, testers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful sprint delivery
• Take ownership of backlog grooming and story prioritization
• Support product roadmap definition and progress tracking
• Ensure alignment between technical teams and business expectations

Required Skills & Experience:

• Fluent in Finnish and English (both spoken and written) – mandatory
• 6–8 years of experience in a Business Analyst or Product Owner role
• Strong skills in writing clear and structured Jira stories and documentation
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Confident in leading scrum calls, team retrospectives, and customer demos
• Proven ability to liaise between business and technical teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with Java APIs or ability to collaborate effectively with Java developers
• Experience with Core Java development, GUI, or Rich Client applications is a bonus
