The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking a Web Technologist Officer to join the Application Services Unit. The role of the Web Technologist is to develop and maintain responsive websites using modern web technologies.

What You Will Do
In the Web Technologist role, you will:
- Design, develop, implement, maintain and edit high standard websites, online forms, multimedia, web applications and collaboration sites that comply with QCAA's publication, branding and security guidelines and meet Queensland Government information, usability and accessibility standards.
- Support the maintenance and development of the Authority's content management systems (Squiz Matrix, WordPress, SharePoint) by updating content, developing templates, taking responsibility for the management of CMS configuration, assets, user roles, permissions and workflows and by training and supporting content contributors, editors and approvers.
- Implement web-based projects in collaboration with QCAA staff, providing advice and recommendations on the technical and usability aspects of online communication and technologies while ensuring that the integrity of information architecture and a high-level ease-of-use for customers is maintained.
- Manage allocated projects with minimal supervision, including the analysis of requirements, research, development and implementation of solutions, negotiation of outcomes and by meeting agreed deadlines.
- Liaise with other ICT work units to resolve technical difficulties and ensure the smooth running of applications.
- Design, develop, implement and document all aspects of front-end design including user experience and user interface design.
- Produce and analyse web metrics reports, including but not limited to the production of Google Analytics reports.
- Optimise resource discovery by developing and managing metadata, creating and editing search forms and search result templates, and by managing and configuring search engine performance.
- Maintain awareness of changes in web standards, trends and technical developments and support the Team Leader, Web in the documentation, maintenance and development of standards, policies, registers and technical guides.
- Represent the Authority on government technical and web standards working groups.
