Data Scientist

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our growing team at JTA. In this role, you’ll contribute to shaping our Data Science department and take part in the research and development of innovative data-driven solutions. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable insights.

What you will be doing:

• Collaborate on shaping JTA’s Data Science practice and methodologies.
• Contribute to R&D efforts, exploring new technologies and concepts based on our clients’ data.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand objectives and design solutions that meet their needs.
• Help develop and improve internal tools and processes for scalable, maintainable Data Science work.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to CI/CD processes, and support best practices in model development and deployment.
• Depending on experience, you may also support or mentor junior colleagues.

Requirements:

• Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
• Solid experience in Python programming and hands-on Data Science and Machine Learning projects.
• Familiarity with the full Data Science lifecycle: from data exploration and model development to deployment and communication of results.
• A good balance of theoretical understanding and practical implementation.
• Interest in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams (e.g., Data Engineering, DevOps).
• Awareness of software development best practices, including clean code and version control.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Location:

We’re based in Porto, Portugal. Although there is the possibility of remote working, we are only considering people located in Portugal.
