Product Design Lead - Design Systems

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Product Design Lead to own and evolve our design system, the foundation that powers our product experiences. This is a unique opportunity to:

You'll be joining a design-driven organization where systems thinking is valued and supported at the highest levels. As the Design Systems Lead, you'll have the autonomy to implement your vision while collaborating with talented designers, developers, and product managers who are passionate about creating exceptional user experiences.

• Design System Leadership:
• Own the strategic vision and roadmap for our design system, ensuring it scales with our growing product needs
• Lead the development and maintenance of our component library, design tokens, and documentation
• Establish governance models and processes for design system adoption and contribution
  

• Cross-Functional Excellence:
• Partner with engineering leads to ensure seamless implementation of design system components
• Facilitate workshops and design reviews to align teams on design principles and implementation
• Collaborate with product teams to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into the system
  

• Team Development:
• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
• Lead design critiques and provide constructive feedback to elevate design quality
  

• Technical Implementation:
• Work closely with developers to ensure technical feasibility of design solutions
• Contribute to technical documentation and implementation guidelines
• Drive discussions about component architecture and design patterns
  

• 7+ years of product design experience, with at least 3 years focused on design systems
• Proven track record of building and scaling design systems for complex products
• Strong portfolio demonstrating systematic thinking and component-based design
• Experience leading and mentoring design teams
• Expert knowledge of Figma and prototyping methods
• Understanding of front-end development principles
• Deep knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
• Experience with user research and data-driven decision making
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Mastery in creating and maintaining component libraries
• Experience with design tokens and systematic approaches to visual design
• Proficiency in version control systems
• Understanding of modern front-end frameworks and their implications for design systems
• Strong facilitation and workshop leadership skills
• Experience managing stakeholder relationships across disciplines
• Proven ability to influence product strategy through design thinking
• Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration
