Data Scientist

At Coders Connect, we’re partnering with a leading player in the insurance sector to find a Data Scientist for their central office team in Madrid, Spain. This is a hybrid role in a highly flexible and people-first environment where the professional is shaped by the person — not the other way around.

Currently, there’s an exciting opportunity within the Advanced Analytics, AI & Data Monetization division. They’re looking for a mid to senior-level Data Scientist who can help drive real business value through applied machine learning and responsible AI.

🧠 Your Mission

You’ll help translate analytical opportunities into production-ready ML models — delivering measurable business outcomes across areas like agent scoring, fraud detection, and customer lifetime value. This is a hands-on technical role, but with close business collaboration and a focus on ethical, scalable, and automated model deployment.

🛠️ What You'll Be Doing

• Build and deploy ML models for real-world insurance use cases
• Engineer features and prep data to optimize model performance
• Elevate MLOps maturity (using Databricks + Azure) to ensure scalable and automated lifecycles
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions
• Support value tracking of analytics initiatives
• Ensure compliance with ethical AI guidelines and governance frameworks
• Contribute to Generative AI initiatives alongside cross-functional tech teams
• Support decision-making with ad-hoc descriptive analytics
• Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences

🎯 What You Bring

• A degree in a technical field (Master’s in Data Science preferred)
• 3–5+ years of experience building and deploying ML models
• Python, Spark, and SQL proficiency
• Practical experience with Azure, Databricks, GitHub/Azure DevOps, and MLOps
• Previous exposure to the insurance or financial services domain is a plus
• Strong grasp of responsible AI, data privacy, and bias minimization
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Professional-level English
