SteerAI’s advanced AI-powered autonomy stack, developed by the Technology Innovation Institute, empowers the logistics and defense industries by turning industrial vehicles into autonomous powerhouses that can handle complex off-road missions, transforming operations and protecting organizations' most important assets: their workforce.
Role Overview
We’re looking for an Industrialization Engineer – Electronics and Electrical Systems to lead the transition of electronic and electrical subsystems from prototype development to full-scale production. You’ll ensure that these critical systems are designed for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and long-term reliability, directly supporting the deployment of our next-generation autonomous vehicle platforms.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the industrialization of new electronic and electrical subsystems, collaborating with engineering teams and suppliers to ensure smooth transitions from development to manufacturing.
- Review and validate electrical schematics, harness designs, and embedded hardware for scalability, manufacturability, and production readiness.
- Define and optimize assembly, testing, and validation processes for electrical and electronic components.
- Provide technical leadership in DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFT (Design for Testing), and DFA (Design for Assembly) activities.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including BOMs, work instructions, quality control procedures, and test protocols.
- Interface with suppliers for component selection, evaluating process capabilities, and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Conduct root cause analysis on production issues and work closely with engineering teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor production metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Research subsystem architectures and technologies to support scalable, cost-effective solutions for autonomous vehicle applications.
- Support cost-down activities and supplier negotiations to improve production economics.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, industrialization, or production support.
- Proven experience transitioning products from prototype to mass production, ideally in automotive, defense, or industrial robotics domains.
- Strong understanding of electronic components, circuitry, and vehicle/system-level electrical architectures.
- Deep knowledge of electrical harness design, PCB manufacturing, and industrial standards such as IPC, ISO, and MIL-spec.
- Familiarity with autonomous systems or drive-by-wire platforms is a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience with supplier management and cost optimization activities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software and design tools; experience in the automotive or robotics domain preferred.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and the opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest minds in the Autonomous Robotics industry. Our work culture is collaborative and inclusive, with a strong focus on innovation and personal growth.
If you’re passionate about driving the industrialization of cutting-edge electronic systems that power real-world autonomous missions—we’d love to hear from you.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
