The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all MEP aspects of construction projects. This includes ensuring systems are designed, installed, and maintained to meet project specifications and quality standards while adhering to deadlines and budget constraints. The MEP Manager works closely with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to deliver efficient and sustainable MEP solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Develop and oversee MEP project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems with overall project design.
- Review and approve MEP drawings, specifications, and materials.
Installation and Execution:
- Supervise the installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.
- Monitor and inspect work progress to ensure quality and adherence to safety regulations.
- Resolve technical issues and provide solutions to construction challenges.
Team Management:
- Lead and manage MEP subcontractors and project teams.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure accountability within the MEP team.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to team members.
Quality Assurance and Control:
- Conduct regular quality inspections of MEP works and ensure compliance with project standards.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards.
- Address non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
Budget and Cost Control:
- Manage MEP budgets and control costs by ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Conduct cost analyses and prepare financial reports for stakeholders.
- Implement value engineering practices to optimize costs without compromising quality.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as the main point of contact for all MEP-related matters with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Prepare and present progress reports, technical updates, and performance metrics to stakeholders.
- Ensure clear and effective communication among all project parties.
Sustainability and Innovation:
- Promote the use of sustainable and energy-efficient technologies in MEP systems.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and incorporate innovative solutions into projects.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks in MEP systems and develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain a risk register and ensure timely updates and resolutions.
- Address and resolve issues promptly to avoid project delays.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in MEP management, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, standards, and codes.
- Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Project.
