About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Android Developer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of our Android platform, leading the development of scalable, maintainable, and high-performing mobile applications. Your expertise will influence the technical direction of our mobile solutions, ensuring they align with best practices and industry standards. You will mentor junior developers, foster innovation, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including UI/UX designers, backend engineers, and product managers. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Android development with proven experience in Java and Kotlin. You should have a solid understanding of RESTful API integration, JSON data handling, and familiarity with modern development workflows such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD). Experience with Android frameworks and tools including Retrofit, Dagger, RxJava, OkHttp, and Espresso is highly desirable. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead technical initiatives effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Android applications, ensuring adherence to clean architecture principles and best practices.
  • Collaborate with product teams to define technical requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
  • Implement robust, testable, and efficient code using TDD/BDD workflows to guarantee high-quality deliverables.
  • Mentor and support junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate innovative technologies to enhance app performance and user experience.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and ensure code quality standards are maintained across projects.
  • Work closely with UI/UX designers to create intuitive and engaging user interfaces.
  • Integrate third-party SDKs and APIs, ensuring seamless connectivity and functionality.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to facilitate effective project delivery.
