DevOps Consultant

Position: DevOps Consultant

Location: Sydney, NSW

Duration: 6 months

Key accountabilities of the role:

• Efficient in writing Terraform modules and managing Azure services using Terraform.
• Azure cloud formation and Networking.
• Azure AD/Connect/Migration experience.
• Azure VDI/Server migrations (Workload migration) Experience.
• Familiarity with Azure DB, Synapse would be good.
• Provide Technical advice or technical leadership where required to support various IT Infrastructure projects.
• Design Infrastructure solutions for High availability, resiliency, integrity, and security.
• Perform project delivery functions ensuring successful implementations of new systems, platforms, and upgrades.
• Review existing systems and platforms to recommend changes and improvements.
• Quality assurance and documentation of the infrastructure architecture.
• Act as L3 support escalation where required.
• Other duties as reasonably required.

Key Challenges of the role :

• Automation code integration, Testing and Deployment
• Manage pipeline security and efficiency
• Users terraform tools to automate cloud resource deployment
• Server provisioning, log rotations, Backup Routines

Mandatory/Essential Skills and Experience:

• Experience in DevOps and Release management.
• Should be able to execute a project in terms of design, Devops and automation for Public Cloud environment.
• Hands-on Experience working with Infrastructure as Code – Azure CloudFormation and Terraform. Understanding logging, monitoring, and security.
• Develop and document technical designs for integration and implementation of new cloud applications and systems.
• Lead the development of technical artifacts including Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), Detailed Technical Design, Security Architecture Plan, Services Description Document, etc.
• Plan and develop support processes that adhere to best practices (ITIL).
• Communicate effectively through strong written and oral communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Integrate with non-cloud technologies and third-party vendor products/services.
• Assess emerging technologies, stay abreast of industry trends, and give advice on investments prices versus performance.
• Experience with highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments.
