SR. PRINCIPAL PETROLEUM ENGINEER

Primary Purpose Of The Job

Steward and perform technical supervision of petroleum engineering activities of QatarEnergy operated Offshore Fields, including all aspects of well completion, workover and rigless well work (from job design to on-site implementation); well surveillance, well/field network performance modelling /optimization and reservoir management activities. Participate in interdisciplinary team projects and activities. Steward implementation of petroleum engineering technologies, new to QatarEnergy to maximise oil production and recovery.

Required Experience And Skills

• Prefer 15 years of related work experience as a Petroleum Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry with demonstrated Surveillance/Production Engineering/Field Development expertise in optimizing well production in large oil and gas fields.
• Proven experience at recommending remedial well work solutions for oil and gas wells in heterogeneous reservoirs.
• Experience with periodic production rate testing for wells and allocation of well test/production data.
• Experience in acid stimulation of carbonate reservoirs.
• General understanding of production surface facilities and well integrity management.
• Experience with tubing & IPR modelling and Gas Lift design/troubleshooting.
• Experience with interpretation of cased hole production and diagnostic logs.
• Must have strong teamwork skills. Experience working in a multicultural environment is a plus.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, field staff and management.

• Desirable to have experience working in mature producing fields where finding, assimilating, and integrating data from incomplete files and variable sources can be challenging.
• Desirable to have experience mentoring less experienced engineers.
• Desirable to have experience in production and well integrity log interpretation.
  
  

Software Knowledge/Experience

• Well and Reservoir Analysis Software: OFM
• Well Inflow Performance Modelling Software: PROSPER or similar.
• General Allocation and Production Network Software: GAP or similar.
• Emeraude (desirable).
  
  

Educational Qualifications

Minimum a BSc degree in Petroleum Engineering or other related discipline.
