Role Overview:

We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to spearhead advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives for our client. In this strategic role, you will lead the development of innovative data science solutions, mentor a team of data professionals, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights that drive business value. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in statistical analysis, machine learning, and leadership, with a proven track record of deploying enterprise-level models and solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines to support scalable and efficient analytics and machine learning workflows
• Work with large datasets, ensuring high data quality, integrity, and availability
• Develop and implement machine learning models, focusing on regression, classification, and clustering techniques
• Apply libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and XGBoost to solve real-world business problems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals
• Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, fostering collaboration and driving best practices
• Optimize query performance and database structures to support fast and efficient data processing
• Explore and implement deep learning techniques using Keras, PyTorch, or TensorFlow where applicable
  
  

About the contract:

• The role is a long-term (one-year renewable) contract position through Xenon7, which is the approved vendor of the client.
• The payments are paid out in gross amount in USD on a monthly schedule
• Fully remote position in Europe
• Team time zone: GMT+3
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field; a Ph.D. is a plus
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in data science, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role guiding data teams and strategy
• Proven expertise in Python, including libraries like NumPy, SciPy, and XGBoost
• Strong foundations in traditional machine learning methods, including regression, classification, and clustering
• Experience working with databases, query optimization, and data pipeline development
• Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as Keras, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
• Solid understanding of data architecture and ETL/ELT processes
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding teams
