Cloud Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong Azure expertise to join a dynamic team for an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension. This role is critical in supporting the deployment, optimisation, and security of a cloud-first environment that underpins key business operations.

You will be responsible for managing Azure infrastructure, automating provisioning with Terraform, enhancing security through IAM practices, and ensuring high availability and cost efficiency across the cloud landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, maintain, and optimise Microsoft Azure infrastructure
• Implement and manage IAM (RBAC, MFA, access auditing)
• Build infrastructure using Terraform (IaC)
• Monitor system performance and optimise for scalability and cost
• Ensure robust backup and disaster recovery practices are in place
• Collaborate with technical teams to support business continuity

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role
• Deep understanding of Azure services: compute, storage, networking, and security
• Hands-on with Terraform, Git, and modern DevOps practices
• Experience in cost optimisation and performance monitoring in cloud environments
• Strong understanding of IAM, RBAC, MFA, and security best practices
• Solid documentation and troubleshooting skills

Certifications (Required or Preferred)

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
• ITIL Foundation (desirable)
