Head of Software Engineering

We are now looking for a Head of Software Engineering — a hands-on technical leader who will be responsible for the entire product development, from backend to frontend, infrastructure to deployment. You will work closely with our data scientists, product team, and customers to deliver a robust, scalable, and impactful product.

This is a unique opportunity to own the product roadmap from a technical perspective, lead architectural decisions, and help scale a platform designed to optimize thousands of industrial processes globally.

Core stack: Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, React, Docker, Azure, Terraform

Machine learning & data tools: Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, PyTorch, TensorFlow, MLflow, Optuna, ONNX, Plotly/Dash

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and architect high-quality software for AI-powered process optimization, delivering on both functionality and scalability.
• Collaborate closely with AI/ML specialists to integrate data science models into the software ecosystem.
• Engineer robust data connectors and APIs to facilitate seamless data flow between edge devices, the cloud, and user interfaces.
• Create intuitive, powerful user interfaces that enable operators to efficiently interact with AI insights and recommendations.
• Be proactive in leading the software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment and support.
• Champion Agile methodologies to foster a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
• Advocate for best practices in code quality, security, maintainability and also documentation.
• Engage with key stakeholders to translate complex requirements into actionable development strategies.
• Mentor team members and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience leading and architecting robust, scalable software development projects
• Understanding and practical expertise with cloud computing services like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Good understanding and experience in security aspects of software development
• Solid experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, for deploying scalable and reliable systems.
• Strong command of programming languages including but not limited to Python and web development stacks (JavaScript, React).
• Proactive in adopting and enforcing best practices in software development, including code quality, security measures, and system reliability.
• Exceptional problem-solving aptitude and the ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
• Leadership experience with a track record of mentoring team members and driving projects to successful completion.

Great to have:

• Experience in building SaaS platforms
• Proficient with industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, OPC-UA, and other IoT technologies, enabling seamless machine-to-machine communication.
• Experience or knowledge of industrial process control, SCADA systems, and real-time data processing would be a significant asset.
• Experience with AI/ML integration, and advanced analytics to drive optimization algorithms and process improvements.
