Information about the position

As a Manager of Data Science & Analytics (DSA) for Analytics Engineering, you will act as a People Lead and a Lead Analytics Engineer in the Marketing domain.

This role is pivotal for ensuring the quality, reliability, and efficiency of our Marketing data models. As a part of this dynamic, talented and committed team, you'll advocate for and guide the implementation of best analytics engineering practices, manage technical projects, coordinate with marketing and external tech teams, and continuously strive to raise the bar for data practices in the Marketing Data Science & Analytics domain.

You’ll report to the Director of DSA in Marketing and work closely with other Marketing leads to ensure that the area’s data priorities are being met effectively.

In this position, you’ll

• Drive Domain Objectives: Lead technical projects in Marketing DSA, focusing on future outcomes and strategic initiatives.
• Lead a Team of 3 - 4 Analytics Engineers, ensuring smooth collaboration and continuous growth.
• Setup the team for success and drive delivery by shaping the team’s objectives, priorities, processes, and rituals.
• Lead and Innovate: Suggest and implement technical changes to enhance Marketing data modelling.
• Ensure Collaboration: Align the Marketing domain’s technical vision through effective cross-team partnerships.
• Champion Data Governance: Develop and oversee robust data governance and quality frameworks. Own the processing of analytical data, including data retention, privacy, quality control and monitoring.
• Scale Our Data Stack Efficiently: Manage the growth and continuous iterations of Vinted Marketplace data models and pipelines.
  
  

About You

• Experience in leading a team of data specialists (e.g. Analytics or Data Engineers, Data or Decision Scientists, Data Analysts)
• Experience as an Analytics Engineer, ETL Developer, or Data Engineer.
• Proficient in SQL, Git, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java).
• Familiar with testing, build, deployment, and CI/CD practices.
• Passionate about data modelling, data warehouse design, and the always-developing state-of-the-art of managing analytical data at scale.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Highly results-oriented and comfortable with iterative processes
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Bonus: Experience with DBT and Google Cloud Platform (e.g. BigQuery).
• Bonus: Proven experience in marketing data analytics and reporting across various digital and offline marketing channels.
