Description
Amazon’s Operations Planning Team (OPT) is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team and help attain key planning goals using data-backed solutions and tracking impact across the organization. In this role you will work with senior leaders across multiple teams, including Global Engineering Services (GES), Central Reliability Maintenance and Engineering (CRME), Global Energy Sustainability and Automation (GESA). The role will interact with technology teams, senior leaders, operations, business intelligence, etc. to solve complex data and analytics problems.
The role will provide data-driven insights through dashboards and reporting that support critical decisions and performance visibility. It will be key to ensure consistency, accuracy, and governance of key operational metrics across the business.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will lead and develop a portfolio of tools and reporting to accomplish business team's goals and charters. You will learn the ins and outs of all facets of the GES, CRME and GESA org's, and be a trusted partner to teams by sharing data-driven insights and actions based on deep understanding of the business. You will deliver strong results ranging from reporting, automated insight generation, advanced analytics, comprehensive datasets, at standards that raise the bar for the rest of the organization.

The Operations Planning Team (OPT) is a newly formed team, designed to enhance synergy and operational efficiency across the diverse Global Engineering Services (GES), Central Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (cRME), and Global Energy, Sustainability & Automation (GESA) organization. The team will drive operational excellence and strategic alignment, through planning, business operations, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key job responsibilities
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing and ad-hoc metrics, reports, and analyses, to drive key business decisions
- Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format
- Define the data elements to enable analytical and reporting capabilities, and work cross-functionally with other research teams when needed
- Support reporting for weekly, monthly and quarterly business reviews and strategic planning (OP1, OP2, SPS)
- Utilize data to support software product decisions for feature development, prioritization, and to identify and address improvement opportunities
- Work closely with Data Engineers to build automated processes for large scale data analysis
- Manage backlog of analytics requests; prioritizing most important tasks while communicating expectations and timing of deliverables to stakeholders

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau
- Experience in business or financial analysis
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
