Test Automation Engineer

This is powered by data-driven lane assessments and visibility into logistics capabilities across the globe. In short: we make pharma supply chains smarter, safer, and more collaborative.

We are currently accelerating our growth from small startup to ambitious scaleup. To meet our new objectives we are looking for talented Test Automation Engineers to join our team in Utrecht.

Our current team is currently composed by 3 Fullstack developers and 2 test automation engineers. Our application is a monolith built on MySQL, PHP and Symfony. The frontend is mostly Twig templates, with some Vue.js additions, that we integrate with vanilla JS and some jQuery that we would like to remove eventually. We maintain a fully automated build pipeline in Jenkins, use Ansible for deployment, and several other supporting tools. We make extensive use of Behat to maintain a fully tested application. This is necessary to develop fast in a reliable manner, but also ensure we meet pharmaceutical guidelines and regulations (GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 1).

Key responsibilities:

• Automated Test Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated tests in Behat.
• Agile Team Participation: Proactively participate in the Agile team, contributing to optimizing quality and productivity throughout the development lifecycle.
• Manual Testing: Perform manual testing as needed in a scalable approach to complement automated efforts, ensuring thorough validation of requirements.
• Test Environments: Set up and manage test environments using Behat, Chrome, Selenium and related tools.
• CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
• Documentation: Document testing strategies, processes, guidelines, standards and results to support compliance audits and quality assurance.
• Test Management: Pro-actively manage tests using existing test management tooling or by introducing new tooling to ensure existing and new tests are well structured and maintained.
• Bug Management: Align with internal stakeholders in analyzing newly reported bugs, and documenting this accordingly.
• Internal Alignment: You partake in regular internal alignment sessions with the Customer Success and Support teams on e.g. bug prioritization.
• Release Management: You participate in the release management activities, which include pre-and-post-release validation activities.
  
  

Requirements

You are:

• 4 to 6 years of related experience
• Comfortable working in a company that's growing fast: previous experience in startups/scaleups will be highly valued
• A team player, well versed in English
• An experienced programmer with solid foundations in PHP and knowledge of Behat
• Have relevant certifications such as Certified Agile Tester, Certified Test Automation Engineer, ISTQB, or CSTP.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
• Experience with manual testing and Test Management tools and/or Requirements Management tools.
• Experience working with User Requirements Specifications (URS) and maintaining a Traceability Matrix or similar.
• Looking to contribute to something meaningful in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry
• Not afraid of learning: experience/ interest in learning new tech stacks based on Java / Quarkus and React.js in the future, we want you to grow with us
• Based in the Netherlands, willing to grow with us for a longer period of time
