Lead DevOps Engineer

We are seeking an accomplished Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Omni Core Payment team, taking ownership of complex infrastructure challenges and guiding the team toward achieving operational excellence. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to mentor and inspire others while driving efficiency and reliability across systems and ensuring seamless integration of tools and workflows.

Responsibilities


  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of OMS logic, including refund processing, payment capture, and payment holds
  • Oversee the development and optimization of workflows utilizing IBM Sterling and IBM Sterling OMS to ensure system performance and scalability
  • Champion efforts to automate build, test, and deployment processes using Jenkins across all environments
  • Define and integrate monitoring and observability strategies using tools such as Instana, Grafana, Prometheus, and Kibana to ensure system health and reliability
  • Design, review, and maintain automation scripts using TypeScript and Python while driving quality standards for scalability and maintainability
  • Coordinate and participate in on-call support schedules to ensure system reliability and timely issue resolution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, removing roadblocks and fostering alignment between infrastructure goals and business objectives
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in Elastic Stack integrated environments, delivering long-term solutions and optimizations
  • Drive improvements in system scalability, security, and performance, ensuring future-proof solutions for an evolving architecture
  • Mentor team members, fostering professional growth and enhancing the overall expertise of the team


Requirements


  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps roles
  • At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience
  • Proven expertise in Elastic Stack, IBM Sterling, and IBM Sterling OMS, including the ability to make architectural decisions and provide guidance
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Jenkins for designing and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines
  • Comprehensive knowledge of observability tools like Instana, Grafana, Prometheus, and Kibana for proactive performance monitoring and response
  • Proficiency in scripting with TypeScript and Python, with the ability to enforce best practices and standards
  • Advanced understanding of refund, payment capture, and payment hold logic in OMS environments
  • Availability for on-call support with the capability to lead incident resolution processes when necessary
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with English proficiency at a B2+ level


Nice to have


  • Advanced familiarity with AWS for managing cloud-based infrastructure including scalability and cost optimization
  • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code solutions with the ability to implement and maintain complex infrastructure setups
