Remote - YES (1 x Quarterly on site meeting @ Berlin HQ)

Salary - up to €80,000pa

Contract - 18 months ANU/AUG

As a (Senior) Operations Engineer (m/f/d), you will contribute to PLAIN, a cutting-edge data analysis and AI platform. You’ll play a key role in building the technical infrastructure for data engineering projects in a multi-tenant setup. Whether you're setting up on-premise solutions in data centers or integrating and automating systems for virtualization, containerization, and monitoring, your expertise will help shape data-driven political decision-making across federal ministries.

Your Role:

• Take ownership of customer-reported issues and manage them through to resolution.
• Investigate, diagnose, and implement solutions to service-related problems.
• Monitor system performance and proactively address issues.
• Manage incident response for deployed applications.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve system efficiency.
• Process support tickets in compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
• Conduct Blameless Post-Mortems with cross-functional teams to ensure continuous improvement.

Your Profile:

• Degree in computer science, IT-related training, or equivalent qualifications.
• Proven experience in IT operations or production support.
• Hands-on experience with Linux platforms.
• Familiarity with tools like Proxmox, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker, Grafana, GitLab, Terraform, and more.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Bash, Go, or Perl).
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and ready to work within a 24x7 support model.
