The Video Coding Research team at Nokia Technologies has a strong track record in developing video compression algorithms and features for international standards.
You will be part of a highly skilled multi-national team of experts in the field of video compression. Come join us and make an impact!
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
- Obtain an overview of the current state of the art in video coding with traditional and data-driven methods via hands-on experimentation with the methods involving implementing new features, running simulations and visual testing.
- Participate in technical and perceptual evaluation of solutions found in the literature. Depending on the progress, participate and contribute to the development of novel video coding methods.
- Document the results and communicate them to the rest of the team.
You have:
- You are finalizing your M.Sc. or comparable level studies in a relevant field to image/video signal processing
- You have hands-on programming experience in C, C++.
- Good collaboration and communication skills (English mandatory)
- Knowledge of current video coding standards, such as AVC, HEVC, and VVC.
- ML related programming experience in Python (preferably with PyTorch).
