Role

The Web Designer will be responsible for creating visually appealing, user-friendly, and accessible websites and digital interfaces for our financial institution clients. The role involves designing and maintaining web solutions, primarily using the Umbraco CMS, to enhance user experience and support the digital presence of our clients. The ideal candidate will combine strong UI/UX design skills with technical expertise in HTML, CSS, and content management systems, while collaborating closely with stakeholders to deliver solutions that align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Website Design and Development:
  • Create and maintain visually compelling and functional websites using Umbraco CMS, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and user needs.
  • UI/UX Design:
  • Design intuitive and engaging user interfaces, focusing on usability, accessibility, and responsive design to enhance the user experience across devices.
  • Content Management:
  • Manage and update content within Umbraco and other CMS platforms, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with client requirements.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Work closely with financial institution stakeholders, developers, and marketing teams to understand requirements, translate them into design specifications, and deliver solutions that meet business goals.
  • Front-End Implementation:
  • Utilize HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to implement designs, ensuring compatibility across browsers and devices.
  • SEO and Accessibility Optimization:
  • Incorporate SEO best practices and accessible design principles to ensure websites are discoverable and usable by diverse audiences, including those with disabilities.
  • Prototyping and Testing:
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using tools like Figma, and conduct usability testing to refine designs based on feedback.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to enhance website performance, user engagement, and design quality, leveraging analytics and user feedback.
  • Staying Updated:
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends, tools, and technologies in web design, UI/UX, and CMS platforms to maintain a competitive edge.


Skills and Expertise Required

  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end development.
  • Extensive experience with Content Management Systems, particularly Umbraco.
  • Expertise in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio for front-end development tasks.
  • Knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office for operational tasks.
  • UI/UX Design Skills:
  • Strong ability to create user-centered designs, wireframes, and prototypes that prioritize usability and aesthetics.
  • Understanding of responsive and adaptive design principles to ensure cross-device compatibility.


Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to analyze user feedback, analytics, and performance metrics to iterate and improve designs.


Working Location

The role requires full-time in-office work at our Dublin West location for the first six months. After this period, a hybrid working model will be available, requiring three days in the office per week.
