We are growing our Data team and are looking for an experienced Data Science Engineer. As a Data Science Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of machine learning projects, from ideation and experimentation to model development and preparation for production. You will tackle complex business problems using a variety of ML techniques and contribute to our growing expertise in AI.
Responsibilities
- Lead the research, design, and development of machine learning models to solve business challenges, leveraging both traditional ML techniques and advanced AI approaches
- Develop and implement data collection strategies, feature engineering techniques, model development and evaluation metrics
- Apply containerization and version control for effective model development and reproducibility. Ensure models are well-documented and prepared for deployment in collaboration with ML Engineers
- Communicate complex technical findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in ML/AI
- Contribute to the development of our data science best practices and methodologies
- Proactively seek opportunities to showcase the team's work and build awareness of the value of data science and AI within the organization
Expected Skills & Experience
- Education in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields
- Experience as a Data Scientist or similar role, with a strong focus on applied machine learning independently driving data science projects from conception to near-production readiness
- Deep understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms (including time series, optimization, classification, object detection, anomaly detection, etc.), and evaluation metrics. Traditional ML is a core foundation, but experience in Computer Vision and/or advanced AI models (LLMs, agents) is a strong advantage
- Proficiency in Python and relevant data science libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch). Familiarity with Restful API frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on driving measurable business value. Solid communication and presentation skills
Bonus Points
- Experience with Computer Vision and/or advanced AI (LLMs, AI agents) problems and familiarity with tools like Ultralytics (YOLO), LangChain or similar
- Experience with MLOps concepts, workflows and tools (specifically, Kubeflow, Kubernetes)
- Contributions to data science or ML communities

The monthly gross salary ranges from 3850 EUR to 5780EUR. The ex act amount depends on your competencies relevant to this position. The total compensation package includes the salary along with additional benefits for LTG employees.
