Network Data (LAN/WAN) - L3 engineer

Mode: Hybrid 3 days reporting to office


Responsibilities & Qualifications


Responsibilities

• Fulfilling requests, Resolving Incidents in adherence with SLAs.


• Perform root cause analysis independently, own and implement corrective


actions as appropriate.


• Provide technical leadership for high severity technical bridges,


Troubleshoot complex technical issues independently and drive to closure.


• Follow up and execute workarounds, permanent solutions.


• Maintain good relationship with customer network Operations/Engg teams


and collaborate with all the stakeholders.


• Supporting network projects implementations including physical


installation of devices with and without Smart hands support.


• Plan and execute preventive maintenances and ensure maximum network


uptimes.


• Understanding and supporting client networks globally.


• Deliver quality services to ensure customer satisfaction.


• Advise modern technologies and design changes to client as appropriate.


• Execute software upgrades, device hardening, standardization, and cleanup


tasks.


• Maintain Network inventory.


• Creating/updating network diagrams using Visio.


• Ensure L1/L2 teams are proactively working on alerts/incidents generated


by network monitoring tools and provide technical support to them as


needed.


• Supporting tasks related to Configuration management, Change


management, Vulnerability management, patch management etc.


• Support EOL/EOS devices refresh projects.


• Mentoring/training Level 2 Engineers.


• Identify Skillset gaps and conduct trainings to strengthen the team.


• Leading shift operations and ensure prompt response for L1/L2 engineers,


ensure tickets are addressed within the defined SLAs.


• Coordinate with ISP providers for circuit related outages, deployments, and


maintenance works.


• Coordinate with OEM technical supports to resolve complex issues.


• Collaborate with Customer network team, HCL teams deployed globally.


• Collaborate with various technologies SMEs for projects deployment and


troubleshooting.


• Analyzing incident categories periodically and prepare action plan to


prevent repetitive issues.



Technology Knowledge:


• Routers & Switches – Predominantly Cisco, Juniper can be considered too.


• Wireless LAN – Preferably Cisco.


• IPAM – Infoblox /others


• Load Balancers - F5 LTM/Citrix NetScaler’s


• WAN Optimizer (Optional) - Riverbed / others

• TCP/IP


• Terminal Server – Avocent Console servers/Raritan/Opengear


• Cisco DNAC, Prime


• Cisco ACI


• Splunk, Solarwinds.


• ITIL process.


• Knowledge of Firewall concepts/deployment methods.



Technical Certifications -


CCNA is must. Should also be certified in one of the below.


• CCIE in any of the network streams.


• CCNP or equivalent in R&S / Wireless


• Cisco ACI (DCACI)


• F5 -LTM Administrator/Professional


• Infoblox- DDI Associate/Professional


Qualifications • 12+ years of hands-on experience with advanced level proficiency in design,


deployment and managing large scale global enterprise and data center


networks comprised of various network products.


• Extensive knowledge and Hands -on required to deliver complex design


deployments, to administer. Advanced level skills required to troubleshoot


complex performance issues in large sclae enterprise that includes Wired &


Wireless environment.


• Excellent communication and conversation skills (Verbal and Written).


• Should be able to perform root cause analysis independently.


• Ability to perform in high pressure work environment.


• Troubleshooting skills to fix major outages, ability to provide technical


leadership for high severity technical bridges and escalations.


• Strong technical skills and Hands-on in Cisco enterprise grade switches,


routers, Wireless technologies.


• Should have knowledge of SDWAN solutions.


• Excellent and methodical troubleshooting skills.


• Knowledge and Hands-on of load Balancers & WAN Optimizers like


Riverbed.


• Knowledge of DNS, DHCP and IPAM solutions with ability to perform tasks


independently.


• Advanced level knowledge in implementing and troubleshooting complex


layer 2/Layer3 technologies such as VLAN Trunks, VTP Ether channel, STP,


RSTP and MST, High availability like VRRP, GLBP, HSRP, Security features


like AAA, WAN protocols like OSPF, BGP. Stack wise, VDC, VPC, OTV.


• Hands on in Cisco catalyst, Nexus, ASR, ACI platforms.


• Extensive Knowledge in Infoblox, F5 LTMs with ability to perform tasks


independently.


• Advanced skills in Packet capture and analyzing skills.
