We're working with a mission-led organisation working at the intersection of climate resilience, technology, data and financial services. Backed by large financial institutions, government agencies, and global partners. Their platform is already in use nationally and is now evolving into a scalable solution with strong commercial potential and international interest.

Now, as they prepare to scale their technology, partnerships, and operations, they’re seeking a high-performing Senior Project Manager to help them align their internal delivery engine and bring governance to everything they do. This role will oversee internal delivery, ensuring that their Product, Communications, and Partnerships teams operate effectively and deliver on time and within budget. You’ll also manage core business functions including HR and legal.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the CEO, this role requires both strategic oversight, the implementation of governance frameworks and hands-on project delivery. The Senior Project Manager will oversee multiple concurrent initiatives, ensuring delivery is aligned, well-documented, and progressing on schedule. The key focus are ultimately their core products, but in bringing everything together this role will span HR, legal, procurement, finance, technical vendors and senior government partners.

The successful candidate will:

• Plan and align: Develop and maintain 30/60/90-day project plans across internal initiatives and externally funded streams of work.
• Coordinate projects: Manage day-to-day delivery for key projects such as training rollouts, product testing, and pilot deployments.
• Establish governance: Create and manage internal and external steering committees; ensure meetings are structured, documented, and actioned.
• Manage compliance and contracts: Liaise with legal and external advisors to assess, negotiate, and maintain contracts and internal policy documentation.
• Track performance: Build simple but effective reporting tools and dashboards to monitor timelines, KPIs, and budget compliance.
• Identify and escalate risks: Maintain a delivery risk register and flag capacity or delivery challenges early with mitigation plans.
• Strengthen internal systems: Help transition the organisation from contractor-heavy operations to a professionalised, full-time team structure.

Initial projects will be focused on aligning program delivery with the organisation’s evolving product roadmap and helping teams stay on track across multiple operational and partner-facing workstreams.

Your Background

This role suits a hands-on, detail-driven project generalist who is comfortable in a startup environment and understands product development. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously, and the confidence to lead governance, planning, negotiations, and compliance. Having a background in regulated environments, public-private partnerships or tech-enabled service delivery will be beneficial.

• 7+ years' experience in project management
• You've delivered projects that are beyond 12+ months in duration
• You need to have proven experience working in a smaller organisations, but a blend of both small and enterprise will work best.
• Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects from planning to execution
• Ability to review and negotiate contracts, manage compliance and assess operational risk
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency in tools such as Asana, Microsoft Planner, Jira, Confluence, or Google Suite
• Comfortable setting up governance frameworks and forums, and reporting structures
• Experience across sectors such as insurance, climate tech, proptech or govtech is favourable.

*You MUST be living in Australia and you are happy to travel to Brisbane every couple of months for blocks of 1-3 days.
