Our Client
Our client is an exciting, well-funded startup developing next-generation subtitle technology at the intersection of AI, media, and design. Their mission is to make subtitles come alive by capturing tone, emotion, and tempo of speech - and transforming them into animated, real-time experiences. With funding secured and an ambitious roadmap ahead, they are now seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join their core team in Frankfurt, Germany.

The Role
As one of the first engineering hires, you'll take ownership of key areas of the codebase, bridging a cutting-edge frontend with a sophisticated audio-analysis backend. This is a high-impact, lead-level role-ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in creative, fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of a prototype into a production-grade Next.js 14 application.
• Design scalable, maintainable architectures.
• Build real-time APIs (tRPC / REST / GraphQL) to connect with a Python audio engine, optimising for low-latency streaming.
• Collaborate with designers & ML engineers to create emotion-driven subtitle animations (Framer Motion, WebGL, etc.).
• Set up CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).
• Establish coding standards, mentor junior engineers, and influence technical decisions.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years building modern web applications with React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Strong full-stack skills with backend API development and database experience.
• A creative coding mindset and passion for visual polish (Canvas, WebGL, SVG animations).
• Experience taking products from 0→1 in a startup or fast-moving environment.
• Strong grasp of clean coding, testing, and deployment best practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with audio/video processing (e.g., FFmpeg) or media streaming.
• Familiarity with animation libraries (Framer Motion, GSAP).
• German language skills (English is the working language).
