Senior Risk Officer – Global Banking & Asset Management | Luxembourg
We are partnering with a leading international banking and asset management group to recruit an experienced Senior Risk Officer to join their Luxembourg-based entity.
This is an excellent opportunity for a risk professional with deep knowledge of the regulatory environment and a track record in managing both financial and non-financial risks within a dynamic, multicultural environment.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Act as a senior member of the 2nd line of defence, ensuring the risk management framework is fully implemented and maintained in line with CSSF and EU regulations.
- Oversee the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of key risk categories: market, credit, liquidity, operational, outsourcing, and ICT risks.
- Support the design and update of policies, procedures, and risk appetite statements.
- Lead and contribute to regulatory reporting (e.g., ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plan, Risk Management Report).
- Prepare and present risk reports to senior management, committees, and the Board.
- Liaise proactively with the CSSF and other regulatory bodies during inspections, queries, and regular supervisory interactions.
- Provide risk input for strategic projects and new product reviews.
- Mentor junior risk team members and promote a strong risk culture across the business.
🔹 Profile
- 5–8+ years’ experience in risk management within banking, asset servicing, asset management, or financial services.
- Strong understanding of CSSF regulations and EU prudential frameworks (CRD/CRR, UCITS, AIFMD).
- Proven experience in both quantitative and qualitative risk assessment.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage at Board and C-suite level.
- Fluent in English; French or another European language is an asset.
- Professional qualifications such as FRM, CFA, or equivalent are advantageous.
