Head of Engineering - Dubai- Emerging Blockchain Innovation

Experience: 8+ years, at least 3 years in leadership role

My client is an exciting blockchain innovation firm on the rise, looking to add a Head of Engineering to their expanding team of highly talented modern developers.

As Head of Engineering, you will oversee technical strategy, execution, and growth of the engineering team. You'll lead the design, development and deployment of robust, scalable and secure trading platforms - including low-latency infrastructure, APIs and user interfaces - while ensuring the team stays ahead of crypto market trends & across emerging technologies. This role requires a hands-on leader who is both technically proficient and strategically minded.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in high-frequency trading, crypto, fintech, or similarly complex domains.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or related field)
• Proficiency in programming languages, e.g. C++, Python, or Rust.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Deep understanding of low-latency systems, distributed computing, and scalable architectures.
• Familiarity with blockchain technologies and crypto trading protocols.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach when necessary.
  
  
  

Desirable

• Experience working with market data feeds, FIX/REST APIs, and smart contract development.
• Understanding of financial markets, risk management, and trading algorithms.
• Contributions to open-source projects in the blockchain/crypto space.
