Senior Product Designer (Interim)

We are Fixico, a fast-growing car damage repair marketplace, backed by world-class Silicon Valley-based investors, and scaling up rapidly throughout Europe. Trusted by fleet owners, leasing, rental, and insurance companies. Fixico has managed hundreds of thousands of repairs for companies ranging from the world's biggest brands to local players.

To support our expansion, we’re looking for a Senior Interim Product Designer on a freelance, project-based contract. In this role, you will lead specific design initiatives that contribute directly to Fixico’s product goals. You will have a high degree of autonomy, focusing on defined projects with measurable outcomes, and your work will directly support our long-term vision without a requirement for ongoing team integration.

Project scope:

• Translate strategic initiatives (e.g., new service launches, communication improvements) into specific design projects.
• Develop a foundational design strategy framework that will guide future product enhancements, including user engagement improvement.
• Lead a project to implement rapid prototyping and user feedback loops, building a flexible, learning-focused design approach.
• Host a limited series of workshops with the design and product teams to align on major milestones and foster cross-departmental collaboration.
• Deliver a set of design KPIs and a method for tracking improvements in efficiency, engagement, and usability that can be handed over to the in-house team for long-term use.

Contract Details:

• Duration: Minimum of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs.

What We’re Looking For:

• 4-5 years of product design experience in a tech or scale-up environment.
• Proven experience balancing hands-on design work with strategic insight within a defined project scope.
• Strong experience in UX research, interaction design, and visual design principles. Experience working within agile product teams is a must.
• Ability to work independently and manage project deliverables without daily oversight.
• Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Jira, and Miro, with experience in setting up design systems preferred.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience in a marketplace or SaaS environment.
• Familiarity with user research methodologies and usability testing frameworks.
