What’s the role?

Are you passionate about writing clean, secure code and making a real impact on cybersecurity? We’re on the lookout for entry levelJava Engineerswho thrive in hands-on coding environments. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of vulnerability management, working closely with cross-functional teams to fortify our applications and infrastructure. If coding is your first language and security your second, this is the opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Write, review and enhance Java code with a strong focus on secure development practices.
• Actively fix security vulnerabilities in codebases and systems, ensuring alignment with internal security standards.
• Develop and maintain scripts or tools to automate vulnerability detection, patching and secure coding checks.
• Embed security into the software development lifecycle by collaborating with engineering, operations and support teams.
• Contribute to strategies that minimize the impact of vulnerabilities on customer data and privacy.
• Support the creation of proactive security measures to stay ahead of emerging threats.
• Maintain detailed records of vulnerabilities, remediation steps and contribute to regular security reporting.
  
  

What do I need?

• 1-3 years of hands-on experience with Java is essential. You should be confident writing secure, efficient and maintainable code.
• Familiarity with React or Node.js is a plus and the team will support in developing those skills.
• Exposure to automation tools or scripting languages like Python or PowerShell is advantageous.
• Proven ability to identify and address security risks in code and systems.
• Capable of explaining technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH or equivalent are desirable but not mandatory.
