Freelance long term DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer with a strong background in open systems, Linux, Oracle databases, Python scripting, and Azure Synapse Analytics. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, supporting data platform integrations, and automating infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments. You’ll work closely with development, database, and operations teams to ensure reliable and scalable deployments of applications and data services.

Responsibilities:

• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Manage and support Linux-based environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) for application and database workloads.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or shell scripts.
• Support and maintain Oracle database environments, including monitoring, backup/restore, patching, and performance tuning.
• Design and implement data workflows and integration pipelines using Azure Synapse, Data Factory, and related services.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation, monitoring, and data processing tasks.
• Collaborate with data engineers and developers to optimize performance of large-scale data workloads.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Implement security best practices across infrastructure and data systems.
• Participate in on-call rotation for infrastructure and application support.
