Location: Utrecht, Netherlands (Hybrid: 2 days in-office, 3 days remote)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Data Engineer to join our client’s data & analytics team for a 6-month engagement. Based in Utrecht, you’ll be working in a hybrid environment (2 days on-site, 3 remote), supporting digital transformation initiatives in the construction industry.

The role is focused on developing, maintaining, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and analytics tools, primarily in Azure, to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain robust ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various internal and external sources (via APIs).
• Monitor and ensure data quality, availability, and consistency.
• Automate workflows and data processing tasks within the Azure cloud ecosystem.
• Contribute to the digitization and automation of operational processes across the organization.
• Collaborate with data analysts, domain specialists, and business stakeholders to understand and meet evolving data needs.
• Design and build Power BI dashboards and reports that are visually intuitive and accessible to both technical and non-technical users.

Tech Stack & Tools

• Cloud Platform: Azure (Data Factory, Data Lake, Logic Apps, Functions, etc.)
• Data Tools: Power BI, SQL, Python (preferred)
• Integration: APIs, RESTful services
• Version Control / DevOps: Git, Azure DevOps (nice to have)
