Security Data Analysis | Data Insights for National Security| Federal Government Security Analytics | Python, SQL, Power BI | Open-Source + Classified Feeds

- Security Clearance: NV2 (Mandatory)
- Contract Length: Until September 2026 + 12 months extensions (Based on the Department's discretion)
We are seeking a data-driven early-career analyst ready to step into the world of national security, working within a mission-critical division of a federal government agency. This role provides the ability to showcase and grow in an area that is focused on blending open-source data analysis, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement to proactively identify and mitigate emerging threats.
You will join a fast-paced environment where data-driven insights support real-world security operations and strategic decision-making.
Key responsibilities of the position:
- Analyse open-source and classified datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and future risks.
- Support creation and maintenance of accurate, high-impact reports and data insights.
- Drive continuous improvement of analytic and assessment methodologies within our client's current technical landscape.
- Assist with data prep, transformation, visualisation and presentation of key findings.
- Collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional teams to enhance analytic processes.
- Contribute to improved data governance, processes, and decision-making capability.
- Draft and present materials to uplift data and analytics maturity across the division.
What we are looking for:
- Recent graduate in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business, Commerce, or related disciplines.
- Strong analytical mindset with demonstrated problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills able to distil complex data into actionable insights.
- Confident participating in solution-focused discussions to address data/system issues.
Desirable skills & experience:
- Exposure to Power BI, SQL, and/or Python for data analysis and reporting.
- Previous internship or professional experience in a Federal Government or security-focused environment.
- Understanding of MS Visio, HyperTerminal, or basic IP network layouts.
- Familiarity with analytical tools or scripting languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, Splunk).
