About The Role

As a Product Intern, you'll be immersed in a vibrant, multicultural team serving clients worldwide. Working alongside industry experts, you'll gain invaluable experience at the intersection of environmental science, risk assessment, and product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support data validation processes to ensure quality, scientific consistency, and integrity across our platform
  • Create client-friendly materials that clearly communicate geographic coverage of various hazards
  • Explore and develop feasibility assessments for heatwave exposure mapping and related analytics
  • Collaborate with senior team members and cross-functional teams to improve existing methodologies
  • Contribute to the development of nature-related and forward-looking risk layers, particularly water-related risks
  • Assist in economic quantification of nature risk and materiality assessments

The internship will be 3 months starting October 2025 in Zurich.

The Product Team within Swiss Re's Risk Data Solutions (RDS) division plays a pivotal role in shaping, delivering, and evolving data-driven solutions that empower clients to navigate complex risk landscapes. The team is structured around a unified vision, with problem solvers driven by passion, powered by knowledge: to be the leading provider of trusted risk insights, data, and analytics. Our purpose is to make today's and tomorrow's complex risks more accessible and lead Swiss Re's innovation and sustainability ambitions.

About You

You're an analytical thinker with an eye for detail and excellent interpersonal skills. Your adaptability and intellectual curiosity enable you to quickly grasp new concepts and contribute meaningfully in a dynamic environment.

We Are Looking For Candidates Who Meet These Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Environmental Science, Geoscience, Climate Science, or related field
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills with a self-motivated approach to work
  • Fluent written and spoken English

These Are Additional Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of climate science or interest in geosciences
  • Experience with climate risk models, geospatial data, or environmental datasets
  • Additional language skills beyond English
  • Experience working in diverse, international teams
  • Familiarity with data visualization techniques
