About The Company

Delivery Software Ltd, trading as Dairydata, is a well-established, family-run software development company based in Manchester. With a rich history in delivering tailored software solutions, we specialize in creating applications for the dairy, food, and beverage delivery sectors. Our client base includes hundreds of dairies across the UK, utilizing our software to streamline inventory management, delivery logistics, invoicing, and customer interactions through our innovative e-commerce solutions. While we maintain a legacy on-premise client base, our primary focus has shifted towards Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), reflecting our commitment to modern, scalable solutions. As a rapidly growing organization, we are dedicated to expanding our talented team to support our ongoing growth and technological advancements.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced PHP Laravel Developer to join our dynamic team. This role offers a hybrid working environment, allowing flexibility between office-based, remote, or hybrid arrangements. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, designing, maintaining, and enhancing our existing and new web applications built on PHP Laravel framework. You will work collaboratively with other developers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business needs. Your role will also include providing support for production issues, resolving bugs, and optimizing system performance. Additionally, you will be involved in deploying software updates and providing training to relevant departments, ensuring seamless integration and operation of our applications across the business.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with the Laravel PHP framework, demonstrating a strong understanding of PHP development best practices. You should possess at least 2 years of experience supporting and developing bespoke MySQL or SQL databases. Familiarity with development tools such as Jira and Bitbucket, or similar systems, is essential. You should be personable, organized, results-oriented, and motivated to grow within a forward-thinking company. A proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a customer-first mindset are crucial for success in this role. While not mandatory, experience with UX/UI design, Git version control, Composer, NPM/NodeJS, and CSS frameworks like Tailwind would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include hands-on development work aligned with project requirements, writing detailed technical specifications, and continuously working to improve the performance and stability of our products. You will collaborate with the wider development team and product owners to ensure our software solutions evolve in line with business objectives. Managing development tools such as Jira and Bitbucket will be part of your routine, alongside conducting QA/testing, particularly when integrating various application components. The role requires a balance of teamwork and independent working, with a focus on delivering high-quality, reliable software solutions that enhance user experience and operational efficiency.

Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from £35,000 to £40,000, commensurate with experience. The package includes pension contributions, a company-provided laptop, and flexible working hours of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Our work environment promotes a healthy work-life balance with options for office-based, hybrid, or remote working arrangements. Employees are also encouraged to participate in monthly social lunches, fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture. We are committed to supporting your professional growth through ongoing learning opportunities and a supportive team environment.
