Summary

We are seeking a Senior AI Scrum Master with over 10 years of experience in Scrum methodologies and at least 2 years of experience in AI and machine learning projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in agile practices, paired with a strong understanding of AI/ML project workflows. This role is pivotal in leading our AI-focused agile teams, ensuring smooth delivery of innovative AI solutions while fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Scrum Ceremonies: Facilitate and lead Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews) for AI and ML development teams, ensuring the teams follow agile principles while delivering high-quality AI solutions.
  • Coaching & Mentorship: Provide expert coaching on Scrum practices and agile methodologies to team members, ensuring high performance and adherence to agile values. Mentor team members to enhance their understanding of both agile processes and AI-specific project dynamics.
  • AI/ML Process Optimization: Collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, and product owners to streamline AI/ML project workflows. Help adapt Scrum processes to better fit the unique requirements of machine learning and AI projects.
  • Backlog and Roadmap Management: Work with the Product Owner to refine and prioritize the AI product backlog, ensuring user stories are clear, actionable, and aligned with business goals. Help prioritize features based on the product roadmap, technical feasibility, and AI model requirements.
  • Impediment Removal: Actively remove roadblocks and challenges that may impede the progress of the AI team. Identify process improvements and foster continuous learning and adaptation to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration across multiple teams, including data scientists, AI engineers, DevOps, and business stakeholders. Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical requirements for AI solutions.
  • Agile Metrics & Reporting: Use agile metrics (velocity, burndown charts, cumulative flow, etc.) to assess team progress and performance. Provide actionable insights and reports to leadership to ensure the team is on track to meet objectives.
  • AI and Agile Alignment: Leverage your knowledge of AI development practices to adapt Scrum ceremonies and processes to fit AI/ML workflows, such as model training, validation, and deployment.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks that may impact the successful delivery of AI projects. Work with the team to develop solutions to overcome obstacles.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, with at least 2+ years of experience working on AI/ML projects.
  • Deep expertise in Scrum and agile frameworks (Scrum Master certification such as CSM, PSM, or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to manage and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, especially for complex, cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leading teams focused on AI and machine learning projects, with a solid understanding of the unique challenges and workflows in AI development.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML tools and technologies such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-learn, or similar.
  • Ability to facilitate agile processes across remote or distributed teams.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services commonly used in AI/ML projects (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure).
