Sr. BI Consultant – Databricks & Power BI

Job Purpose: We are seeking a senior-level BI consultant with a strong background in Databricks, Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud & Business Objects experience. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years’ experience in business intelligence projects, hands-on with backend and frontend development, and capable of driving full project cycles independently — from requirement gathering to dashboard delivery and optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI and Azure Databricks Integration:

Hands-on experience developing and publishing interactive Power BI dashboards and paginated reports.
Ability to integrate Power BI with Azure Databricks using DirectQuery, Spark connectors, and DAX optimization strategies.
Strong grasp of data modeling best practices in Power BI, including star/snowflake schemas, measures, relationships, and calculated columns.
Comfortable working with large datasets and implementing incremental refresh, row-level security, and Power BI workspace management.
Capable of building end-to-end reporting solutions using Databricks SQL Warehouses and/or Delta Lake tables as data sources.
Collaborate with Data Engineers to define optimized queries and Delta table structures in Databricks for analytics.
Familiarity with Azure ecosystem (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Lakehouse architecture) is a plus.

Capable of functioning independently and supporting other team members when needed.
Proactive, analytical, solution-oriented mindset with strong business acumen.
Skilled in requirement analysis, design documentation, technical specification writing, and stakeholder communication.
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to business users.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex dashboards and reporting initiatives from inception to delivery.

SAP analytics cloud & BusinessObjects Expertise

Expertise in SAC story creation, analytic modeling, and data integration with BW and HANA systems.
Senior-level consultant experience with SAP BO Suite: SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Information Design Tool (IDT), Web Intelligence, and SAP Lumira Designer.
Experience developing and managing large BO implementations sourcing data from ECC, S/4 HANA, BW, Oracle, etc.
SAP Data Services: data modeling and schema analysis.
SQL scripting skills for data prep, normalization, and report logic.
Proven ability to build, maintain, and enhance Lumira Designer, including custom CSS modifications.
Strong experience in SAP BW4/HANA connectivity and tooling from the BO side.
Comfortable creating Universes, and end-user reports & dashboards.
Familiarity with JavaScript and front-end customization/UI5 integration.

Good To Have Skills

Exposure to Native HANA modeling and security
Experience with machine learning concepts and tools
JavaScript, Web programming, UI5/Fiori principles
Familiarity with other dashboarding/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, Looker)
Knowledge of Git/version control in BI development

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
