About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead React Native Developer to join Stewardship’s dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will take charge of the ongoing re-platforming of our iOS Giving app into React Native, refining its features and extending its capabilities. You will also play a key role in shaping the future of our mobile development strategy, setting standards, and best practices for the team. As the first dedicated React Native developer, you will have the autonomy to influence our mobile stack and contribute significantly to our mission-driven projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow into a leadership role as the team expands, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable mobile applications that serve our community’s spiritual and charitable needs.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in React Native development, with proven experience in building and deploying mobile applications at scale. A solid understanding of JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern development frameworks is essential. Experience with native mobile development (iOS and Android) is highly desirable, along with familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and third-party libraries. You should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to technical challenges. Additionally, experience working within Agile teams, version control systems like Git, and CI/CD pipelines is preferred. As this role requires alignment with our Christian ethos, candidates must be practicing Christians and actively participate in their local church community.

Responsibilities

Lead the re-platforming of the Stewardship Giving app into React Native, ensuring a smooth transition from existing native codebases. Develop, test, and maintain high-quality, scalable mobile applications that align with our organizational goals and user needs. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend developers to deliver features that enhance user experience and engagement. Establish and promote coding standards, best practices, and documentation to ensure maintainability and consistency across the mobile team. Mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to improve responsiveness and stability. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending innovative solutions to improve our mobile offerings. Contribute to strategic planning for future mobile initiatives, ensuring alignment with Stewardship’s mission and values.
