Data Scientist

Nexeo Belgium is looking for a Medior/Senior Data Scientist – Generative AI to join the Artificial Intelligence Tribe of one of the top financial institutions in Belgium.

As part of the team, you will:

• Design and develop AI applications (e.g., virtual assistants) to improve customer experience, empower employees, and optimize internal processes.
• Apply a broad range of analytical methodologies, including Generative AI (Prompt Engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, speech-to-text, agentic applications, image generation/interpretation) and predictive AI techniques.
• Leverage your expertise in Python to develop and deploy AI solutions in production using modern tools and frameworks.
• Collaborate in an Agile environment with a multidisciplinary team, sharing expertise and driving innovation.
• Access and analyze one of the most diverse and rich datasets in the market.
• Present project outcomes directly to top management.

Your profile:

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field (statistics, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent).
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Data Science and Analytics.
• Strong expertise in Python, deep learning, and pre-trained models.
• Experience with Generative AI frameworks (LangChain, Haystack, etc.) is a plus.
• Previous experience with GenAI applications in the financial sector is an asset.
• Fluent in Dutch or French, and fluent in English.
• Business-oriented mindset, excellent communication skills, and ability to work in multicultural environments.
• Proactive, autonomous, and able to learn quickly new techniques when needed.

• Hybrid model: 50% on-site / 50% homeworking.
