Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join our on-site team in Martillac, France. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with networking devices, VLAN configuration, VoIP, data center operations, and troubleshooting fiber and copper connectivity issues. You will be responsible for ensuring network uptime, managing incidents within SLA, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to maintain seamless network and IT infrastructure operations.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain networking devices including Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Manage VLAN configuration, inter-VLAN routing, and ensure secure network segmentation.
• Troubleshoot VoIP phone issues including SIP registration, QoS settings, and call quality.
• Diagnose and resolve fiber link issues, including SFP module replacement and optical power level checks.
• Perform switch blade replacements and firmware upgrades with minimal downtime.
• Perform rack and stack operations for networking, server, and storage equipment.
• Manage structured cabling, including fiber (single/multi-mode) and copper (Cat6/Cat6a).
• Monitor and maintain environmental metrics (temperature, humidity, airflow) and coordinate with facilities for corrective actions.
• Ensure power redundancy and manage PDUs, UPS systems, and failover procedures.
• Execute disaster recovery and backup operations in alignment with business continuity plans.
• Conduct routine data center health checks and preventive maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Configure and troubleshoot core network protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, STP, OSPF, BGP, VLAN trunking (802.1Q), LLDP, and QoS.
• Ensure compliance with IPv4 and IPv6 addressing schemes and subnetting best practices.
• Implement and manage security protocols such as ACLs, IPSec VPNs, and 802.1X authentication.
• Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG) for proactive fault detection and performance analysis.
• Log and manage incidents, service requests, and changes using ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents within SLA commitments, escalating to higher levels when necessary.
• Document network changes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
• Provide basic support for Windows, Linux, and Unix servers, including network connectivity checks and interface configuration.
• Support storage devices (SAN/NAS) connectivity and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and service providers to resolve issues.
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders and create clear technical documentation.

Skills:

• Cisco certification (CCNA/CCNP) preferred; other networking certifications a plus.
• Proven experience in data center environments with rack-and-stack, cabling, and device configuration.
• Hands-on expertise in VLAN, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), switching protocols (STP, RSTP, MSTP), and security protocols.
• Proficiency in ITSM tools (ServiceNow preferred) and network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure in SLA-driven environments.
• Strong communication skills in both local language (French) and English.
