Information Technology Technician

Title: On-Site Field Service Technician (Freelance / On-Demand)

Location: Ireland (Waterford) – Travel Required

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Field Service Technician to assist with on-site installation, configuration, and maintenance of communication equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Powering on/off and installing communication equipment (routers/switches)
• Setting up cable connections (straight-through, crossover, console)
• Enabling remote access to terminal software via console connection
• Receiving, transporting, and handling communication equipment
• Installing and configuring IP phones (with remote support)
• Performing rack and stack services on-site

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of switches and routers (Cisco / MikroTik / Juniper) and connectivity
• No criminal record
• Ability to travel to specified locations
• Independent, dependable, and detail-oriented

Technician Must Have

• Smartphone (Android or iOS)
• Windows 10/11 laptop with ethernet adapter (TeamViewer + PuTTY installed)
• (Optional) 4G/5G mobile internet or Mi-Fi, headset, and headphones
• Tools (screwdrivers, network tester, RJ45 crimping tool)
• Console cable
