Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our finance team in Riga. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and organizational skills and a comprehensive understanding of payroll processes and taxation. This role is crucial to ensuring accurate payroll operations and supporting overall financial administration in a globally oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide end-to-end payroll services for approximately 400 employees;
• Consult employees regarding payroll-related inquiries and provide timely support;
• Process and reconcile all staff payroll payments and deductions in line with set deadlines;
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports on time and attendance;
• Distribute payslips, including for leavers or upon employee request;
• Prepare and submit accurate tax and payroll information to the State Revenue Service (SRS);
• Verify all taxes, contributions, and other deductions in compliance with applicable laws;
• Add new employees and remove leavers from the payroll system promptly;
• Upload and process payments through the bank system;
• Participate actively in financial audits and provide required documentation;
• Support other finance functions when required;
• Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout Proxy Live Solutions to enhance efficiency and competitiveness on a global level;
• Ensure strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information;
• Comply with all company policies and act professionally in all business interactions.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar payroll or finance role;
• Proven experience in managing payroll for medium to large-sized companies (approximately 400–600 employees);
• A higher education degree or first-level professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Human Resource management;
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and general computer literacy;
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxation and general accounting procedures;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Latvian.

Desirable Skills (Considered an Advantage):

• Experience working in an international or multicultural company;
• Experience supporting multi-jurisdiction payroll processes in an international group;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision).
