Senior Java Engineer

Join a high-impact software development team building advanced, web-based trading technology for over-the-counter (OTC) instruments. You’ll be part of a Change-the-System (CTS) team, working on critical components from concept through delivery. The role combines deep technical expertise with business awareness to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient trading platform functionality.

As a Senior Software Engineer (Java), you will design, implement, and optimize trading platform components, ensuring high performance and reliability. You will contribute to both feature development and DevOps tasks while mentoring junior developers and sharing knowledge within the team.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement functionality and components with clarity and scalability in mind.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code aligned with best practices.
• Perform thorough testing, profiling, and optimization of Java applications.
• Contribute to both development and operational aspects of the trading platform.
• Document design decisions, architecture, and code.
• Mentor new team members and share technical expertise.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to align solutions with requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in Java programming and core libraries.
• Strong understanding of OOP principles and design patterns.
• Deep knowledge of JVM internals, garbage collection tuning, and JVM profiling.
• Expertise in multi-threaded and concurrent programming.
• Familiarity with Java networking, sockets programming, and TCP internals.
• Experience with database systems.
• Knowledge of clean code and defensive programming principles.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Ability to plan, estimate, and deliver work on time.

Nice to Have

• Experience with C/C++ or a second programming language.
• Strategic planning and business-oriented thinking.
