System Engineer

At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a System Engineer to join our UniQue team in Luxemborug.

What will you be doing in this role?

• Design, test and implement Ansible playbooks to apply the prerequisites to host specific products on Virtual Machines hosted on VMware ESXi hypervisor and Red Hat Linux 8 or 9:
• SAP Hana database with cascading system replication (shared nothing topology) and Linux clustering
• o   SAP S/4 Hana integrated with Linux clustering
• o   Oracle Real Application Cluster
• o   Communication of the code with the vCenter API
• o   vmdk creation (optionally with Multi Writer flag) from dedicated datastores
• o   Assign virtual network interfaces on specified vlans
• o   Create DRS anti-affinity rules
• o   Configure the VM in dedicated vCenter folders
• Design, test and handover technical procedures to update Red Hat Linux 7 based Virtual Machines to Red Hat 9:
• Re-install the Virtual Machine with the same hostname and IP in Red Hat Linux 9 and re-deploy the application
• Use the recommended Red Hat Tool "leap" to update the Virtual Machine from Red Hat Linux 7 to version 8 and then 9 (The Red Hat Linux 7 baseline is enforced with Puppet orchestration tool and the Red Hat Linux 8 and 9 baselines are managed through Ansible Automation Platform)
• Engineering tasks
• Automation & scripting with Ansible
• Integration of specific hardware and software within the EP Standard Configurations
• Production of reports, best practices documents and technical procedures
• Preparation and organisation of trainings
• L3 support for incident and request management related to project activities
• Occasional emergency interventions performed out-of-normal working hours

What will you be bringing to the team?

• Have at least a Bachelor's Degree in IT
• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the domain
• Expertise in system & server technologies, including container technologies.
• Skilled in storage engineering: SAN, NAS, and Cloud storage technologies.
• Experience with VMware ESXi hypervisor.
• Proficiency in Red Hat Linux 8 and 9 (and migration from RHEL 7).
• Strong Ansible automation skills (design, testing, implementation of playbooks).
• Familiarity with Puppet orchestration tool.
• Experience with SAP Hana database (cascading system replication, Linux clustering).
• Knowledge of SAP S/4 Hana integrated with Linux clustering.
• Experience with Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC).
• Understanding of vCenter API integration and virtual infrastructure configuration (vmdk creation, VLAN assignments, DRS rules, VM configuration).
• Expertise with automation & scripting skills for infrastructure deployment and configuration.
