Junior Business Analyst

Job Specification:

Experience required

·        Familiarity with SQL and data structures in banking applications. Basic SQL is fine- must be able to run queries and validate data

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

·        Advanced knowledge of UML for documenting requirements and solution designs.

·        Proficiency in creating and iterating screen mock-ups (using tools such as Balsamiq, Figma, or similar).

·        Experience drafting clear, concise user guides and release documentation.

·        Demonstrated ability to run workshops with business users to define requirements and UAT scenarios.

·        Solid understanding of software testing principles and hands-on experience supporting UAT.

·        Prior experience in the banking sector; exposure to trading environments is a significant plus.

·        Organized, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

·        Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence).

Responsibilities

·        Requirements Analysis: Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.

·        UML & Solution Design: Produce high-quality UML diagrams (use cases, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, etc.) to specify system architecture and business processes.

·        Screen Mock-ups: Design and present user interface mock-ups to visualize and validate system functionality with business users.

·        User Documentation: Prepare comprehensive user guides and release notes to support business users during system rollouts and upgrades.

·        Workshops & UAT: Organize and facilitate workshops with end users to define and document User Acceptance Test (UAT) scenarios and acceptance criteria.

·        Testing: Support and coordinate UAT activities, including test case design, execution of tests during Systems integration tests, defect tracking, and reporting, ensuring high-quality deliverables. Should be able to help users come up with UAT test cases – should have the ability to think and create test cases if required.

·        Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key contact for client teams, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions. Experience with change management.

·        Banking & Trading Expertise: Leverage knowledge of banking products, processes, and (ideally) trading systems to provide relevant insights and solutions. This is optional, but helpful. Ideally the candidate should have UI/UX experience in the banking domain (Funds, Trading --- good to have).

·        Requirement gathering would involve either of UI/UX design, screen mock-ups etc. It could also be purely backend requirements, in which case, the Funds and Trading experience should be important.

·        Frontend users are mainly English speaking.
