Job Title: DevOps and Release Engineer

Location: Toronto, Canada (Two days in the office)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps and Release Engineer with a strong background in troubleshooting, configuration, and engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience in both Linux and Windows environments and be capable of thinking on their feet to diagnose and resolve issues. This role involves working with CI/CD pipelines, creating and maintaining infrastructure, and migrating scripts from Salt to Ansible.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both Linux and Windows environments.
2. Migrate Salt scripts to Ansible, including creating Ansible playbooks and inventories.
3. Maintain and support middleware, including Hadoop, Cassandra, Java, and .NET.
4. Assist with server configuration and understand GPOs and other OS-level configurations.
5. Engage with enterprise engineers to resolve pipeline issues.
6. Work with CI/CD pipelines, including creating and maintaining YAML files.

Required Skills:

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins).
• Proficiency in Linux and Windows server environments.
• Knowledge of Ansible and Salt for configuration management.
• Ability to read and write Ansible playbooks and translate Salt scripts to Ansible.
• Understanding of middleware technologies and server configurations.
• Technical expertise in OS layers and middleware support.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Red Hat, Azure, or other relevant certifications (though certifications are not mandatory).
• Strong background in system administration or development.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with enterprise engineers and other stakeholders.
