About The OPPORTUNITY

We have a great opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our Aircraft Sustainment & Training based at the RAAF Base in Williamtown, reporting to the Senior Software Developer

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

You will be responsible for complete own engineering activities in accordance with the relevant project procedures and work instructions, and where applicable regulatory requirements. They may also provide leadership to a small team and/or provide mentoring to other team members.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work effectively as part of a software engineering team, and provide technical leadership to more junior members of the team
  • Interface with other teams on the project ensuring that the broader project team's needs are taken into account
  • Responsible for performing software engineering tasks in accordance with the relevant software engineering plans, and identifying opportunities for improvement of those plans
  • Provide input and offer recommendations for improvement of Company processes and procedures


About YOU

  • Experience in web page development and Oracle database is considered desirable
  • Experience working on Microsoft centric projects and coding with C# is considered desirable
  • Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV1 Clearance
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
