IT Project Manager – Cybersecurity Initiatives (Freelance, Part-Time)

Overview

A leading organization in the financial services sector is seeking a skilled IT Project Manager to drive several strategic cybersecurity initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to lead impactful projects aligned with the company’s IT Security Roadmap, including regulatory compliance, privileged access management, data protection, and vulnerability mitigation.

Key Projects You’ll Lead

• DORA Compliance: Coordinate gap analysis, risk assessments, and mitigation plans to ensure alignment with the EU’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA – EU 2022/2554).
• Privileged Access Management (PAM): Oversee the implementation of a new PAM solution and manage the migration of internal applications and systems.
• Data Loss Prevention (DLP): Roll out DLP policies and use cases to detect and label sensitive information.
• Vulnerability Management: Deliver improvements in patching and vulnerability handling in line with service level agreements.

Role Details

• Workload: 50% part-time (approx. 2.5 days/week or alternating 2 and 3-day weeks)
• Location: Hybrid, with at least 1 day/week onsite in Brussels
• Duration: Until end of 2025, with potential 6-month extension
• Start Date: ASAP

Your Responsibilities

• Define project objectives and assess feasibility
• Structure project phases and clarify scope based on roadmap and dependencies
• Gather functional and non-functional requirements
• Identify and manage risks, interdependencies, and issues
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans
• Lead cross-functional teams in dynamic IT environments
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
• Manage change control and stakeholder communications
• Track progress, budget, and resource allocation
• Ensure procedural compliance and delivery of expected outcomes
• Document and maintain project configurations
• Advise on project prioritization and governance improvements
• Facilitate smooth handover from project to operational mode
