The team you will join: Europe Onboarding

We're building a convenient and scalable onboarding journey that empowers millions of people and businesses across Europe while staying fully aligned with local regulatory standards.

Our goal is to make onboarding to Wise effortless and frustration-free. By collecting only essential and easily provided information, we streamline the process while building robust defenses against financial crime.

Scale Europe smarter, not harder. By automating information collection and review, we're accelerating onboarding for customers while enabling Wise to grow seamlessly without expanding servicing teams proportionally.

We ensure our onboarding process not only meets all regulatory requirements but also detects and prevents financial crime effectively.

What does success look like?

• You'll be having a real world impact by building controls and automations that will enable Wise to offer its products to even more people and businesses across Europe
• You’ll have onboarded and found your place through understanding your team and tribe vision and how you can contribute
• You’ll understand how our values can help you guide your work
• You’ll understand the reasons behind problematic payments and customer difficulties and how to go about solving them
• You’ll be raising the automation level to enable scaling of the product
• Understand our customers and the impact our product makes in their lives
• You’ll help us scale-up and build a world class money transfer product by finding solutions to our technical challenges and opportunities
  
  

Qualifications

What does it take?

• 5+ years of experience Java or other JVM based language, experience with Spring framework and deep understanding of JDBC and database internals
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Distributed and Concurrent Systems
• Experience with machine learning basics (data pipelines, feature engineering, recall/precision, familiarity with machine learning systems in production) is a huge plus
• A strong product mindset and passion for user experience, you prioritise work with the customers in mind and make data-driven decisions to fix customer pain-points
• Being able to work independently on customer problems is a key to success - you take responsibility and end-to-end ownership of your projects: drive and own them to make sure we hit the goals we want to achieve
• Close collaboration with product managers, data scientists, data analysts, engineers and other product teams is a must have and is something to expect to happen on a daily basis.
• Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audience
• Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisation and designing schemas
• You enjoy writing testable code and believe in Test Driven Development
• You believe in and follow best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback.

Starting salary: €66,600-€82,800
